The Global Solutions Summit will take place in Berlin on Monday and Tuesday, March 18-19, 2019. The Summit is a policy forum organized by the Global Solutions Initiative, dedicated to making sustainable policy recommendations for the T20 Japan conference and the G20 summit in June. Attendees will include Chancellor Angela Merkel and the vice chancellor and federal minister for finance Olaf Scholz.

The IPSP is part of the T20 network, and IPSP authors will participate in several sessions of the summit. Gianluca Grimalda (Ch. 8) and Werner Eichhorst (Ch. 7) will be panelists for a session on “Inequality and Social Cohesion: Measurement and Policy,” at 12:00 on March 18. Dr. Grimalda will also moderate “The Future of Politics and Global Governance” at 9:40 on March 19th. Fernando Filgueria (Ch. 8) will participate in “Promoting Women’s Economic Empowerment: Strengthening Measurement to Deepen Impact,” at 12:00 on the 19th. Marc Fleurbaey (Steering Committee) is a panelist in “Measure What You Treasure: How to Introduce and Align Alternative Measures of Success Beyond GDP and Shareholder Value,” at 11:00 on the 18th, and will talk about the IPSP’s Manifesto for Social Progress in the “Paradigm Change Session” at 15:00 on the 19th.
