Marc Fleurbaey asks us the following question: Can researchers help us build a better society? Marc Fleurbaey is an economist, professor at Princeton University, and one of the facilitators of the International Panel on Social Progress / International Panel on Social Progress. He was a researcher at the CNRS. He published “Capitalism or democracy: the 21st century alternative” (Editions Grasset and Fasquelle, 2006), and “Manifesto for social progress” (Editions La Découverte, 2019), is the editor-in-chief of Social Choice and Welfare. and former editor of Economics and Philosophy. He has been a member of the IPCC and the Stiglitz-Sen-Fitoussi Commission on Measuring Economic Performance and Social Progress. His research focuses on the normative economy, distributive justice and the evaluation of public policies. The main areas of application are the measurement of social welfare, climate policies, public health, and optimal taxation.
