Stephan Klasen explains the importance of interdisciplinarity

Stephan Klasen is a professor of development economics at the University of Göttingen and serves as a lead author for Chapter 3 – Inequality and Social Progress. In this interview, he discusses the necessity of using an interdisciplinary approach to identifying the key social issues of our time and devising analytical methods and solutions. He also describes the importance of diminishing the predominance of the lottery of birth in determining one’s opportunities as a vehicle for social progress.
