Welcome to the IPSP surveys!

Surveys are open to everyone and enable you to express your opinion on variety of issues, such as democracy, equality, justice, solidarity, the market economy, the welfare state, globalization and social change. Each survey requires about 10 minutes.

New surveys will be added over the coming months. If you are registered or subscribed to our newsletter, you will be notified.

Survey: What is a just society?

Complete a short survey asking for your views about what social justice means for you, and how much you believe in values such as freedom, equality, human rights, democracy… People have different understandings of what social justice means and whether we already live in a just society, and this survey aims at scanning the diversity of opinions about this issue.

Survey: How to share decisions?

People have different understandings of what democracy means and when democratic rules should be applied, and this survey aims at scanning the diversity of opinions about this issue. How should decision-making power be shared in various groups: a nation, a city, a family, at the workplace? Should it be shared among the members of a group or should decisions be made by a few individuals who are in charge.

Survey: What is a good job?

This survey asks for your views about what makes for a good quality of life at work: income, working conditions, stability, time shifts, relations with colleagues, autonomy, responsibility, benefits… People have different preferences and needs about life at work, and this survey aims at scanning the diversity of opinions about this issue.

Survey: Welfare state

For this study, you will be completing a short survey asking for your views about various services provided by the government under the banner of “the welfare state”: pensions, income support, poverty relief, unemployment insurance, health insurance, health care, redistribution by tax and transfers… People have different understandings of what the welfare state is doing and what it should do and not do, and this survey aims at scanning the diversity of opinions about this issue.

Survey: Competition and cooperation

For this study, you will be completing a short survey asking for your views about the importance and the role of competitive and cooperative social interactions between people (for instance, businesses compete for customers, teams cooperate to achieve a common goal). People have different understandings of how much competition versus cooperation we should ideally have in different activities, and this survey aims at scanning the diversity of opinions about this issue.

Survey: Media and society

For this study, you will be completing a short survey asking for your views about the media and how to get good information about what happens in the world and around us. People have different understandings of what good information is, and different ways of getting or spreading information, and this survey aims at scanning the diversity of opinions about this issue.

Survey: Religions and society

For this study, you will be completing a short survey asking for your views about what religion and religiosity means for you, and how you see the influence of religions on various social issues, such as poverty, sustainability, gender, politics… People have different understandings of what religions are and whether they make a positive contribution to solving our current problems, and this survey aims at scanning the diversity of opinions about this topic.
